What I learned on the 8 week MindfulnessBased Stress Reduction course (MBSR) is invaluable to me and I am now much more aware of the present moment. I am more compassionate with myself and in turn it has allowed me not to get caught up in thoughts but just let them float away. I am more tolerant that I was and while I may lapse from time to time I now am aware and know how to work on my impatience. Darina is a wonderful teacher and has a very natural way about her, her enthusiasm and ease made this course so much easier for me to learn and participate.

"Mindfulness is the greatest present you will give yourself - allowing yourself to be present with yourself, from moment to moment. It sounds so simple, but having a gentle, knowledgeable teacher is the best way to get to the very core of mindfulness. Darina is that person. She teaches you gently,in a kind and joyful way and creates the most relaxing and calming atmosphere in her classes. Her preparation is meticulous and you come away from each week armed with delightful resources. Darina is the best advertisement for mindfulness as she lives what she teaches."

I’m very glad that after much deliberation I decided to join the 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course (MBSR) lead by Darina. It was not easy at first, but proved to be an extremely beneficial journey into discovering a new way of being, relating to my thoughts and feelings and learning the forgotten art of just being in the moment. The course provided me with the knowledge and tools to keep me on the path of leading a more peaceful, happy and satisfying life. Darina is an accommodating, patient and passionate teacher, creating a relaxed atmosphere and her having a truly kind and understanding approach to each and every one of the participants hugely increased the experience. I have no hesitation in recommending the Mindfulness course with Darina to everyone, as I believe each of us can hugely benefit from it.

Over the period of 8 weeks I have found a shift in my patterns and my way of being. For me mindfulness meditation gave me the tools to allow me to sit with myself in a comfortable way. I have been able to explore things which would often bring about stress, worry and fear, and now am able to see things with a different perspective and I feel I am having a better way of dealing with stressful situations. I really really enjoyed the whole 8 weeks of this course and highly recommend it to anyone! It has been a great experience and a fantastic journey back to myself.

Doing an 8 week Mindfulness course benefited and improved my life hugely. It helped me in ways I imagined it would too. It has helped me to grow and change in positive ways and deal with situations I felt or thought I was drowning in. The amount I gained through doing the course and the home practise will stay with me through any difficult and positive stages of life I come across. It has been noticable to others and myself how much learning about and practicing Mindfulness and awareness has woken me up and grounded me again. Darina has been a wonderful approachable teacher and has been the one to help me to see things clearly and for what they really are. I can recommend her course to anyone who is prepared to change and take responsibility for themselves. It wont disappoint.

The techniques that Darina teaches in the course are simple yet very effective, the approach of mindfullness teaches us to be more observant to the patterns of our mindset and emotions that influence our everyday moods and behavior. The course taught me that with patience and practise I can learn to change my automatic reactions and to be kind and more in peace with my inner as well as outer world. Time and regular practice is surely needed to harvest the full benefits and to change the live long habits. Darina offers support and a combination of techniques in a calm environment where in a group one can dive into inner realm discovering lot more about self:) Jana
This is a definition of mindfulness that I really like: "a way of developing an awareness of all this is happening, without getting particularly preoccupied. It helps meditators to handle 'daily irritants' more easily and develop a psychological sense of wellbeing."
That's kind of what I was after and what I got from taking the time to join Darina's course. Mindfulness practice isn't always easy to 'get' or to keep up in daily life. But if you just take the step of starting the course and go with it, the benefits are real - even small ones you don't fully expect or recognise at first.
And Darina is a warm and inspirational teacher.
Plus - doing the course in the beautiful setting of her pod by the stream really adds to the experience!

"I hugely admire Darina’s natural teaching ability and her intuition, and level of genuine interest. I also admire her continuous engagement with self-education as she expands her skill set and repertoire for the benefit of those, who like me were lucky to have “discovered” her. Darina is an invaluable resource in our community."

As I near the end of an eight week course in mindfulness I have one regret – that I didn’t sign up sooner. I believe that mindfulness can be a vital cornerstone in our mental health and I can’t think of anyone, young or old, male or female, who would not benefit from this course.
Thank you Darina, during informal and enjoyable evenings together you have given all us participants an insight into the special gift of being able to live in the moment and trust the inner voice. Today I know myself that much better and I leave with the tools inside to continue the learning. I have begun to relax the ideals, to slow down, to see and hear again, to accept and trust myself. Most importantly I am learning to tune out of the critical and negative and in doing so to recognise all the positives in my life and be very grateful for them. Hard to believe we can so often be happy and not even tell ourselves.
To a great group who shared stories, insights and wisdom every week a big thank you – be happy always! Enjoy the moment, enjoy the little things – they are all the big things in the end.
Darina thank you again. I think we all feel we have made a new friend, keep up the good work.
